I really look forward to my breaks from work. Of course to re-charge, and do new things, but especially because I can focus so much more time on my books. Over the past two weeks I've finished the first draft, gone through the first round of edits in full, and am a quarter of the way through a detailed re-read before my
editor gives it another look. Then it's out to my dream team for a thorough going over. Meanwhile, my beta reader came back with a couple of top tips, which will require a minor re-write to a particular story arc. All-in-all I'm feeling pretty confident, because I'm ahead of schedule compared to where I was with A Crown Denied last year.
So, what can I tell you already about book three? Well,
at the end of A Crown Denied it was known that there would be war between the Affinites and the King of the South American Underworld, and that Sophie may just have found her one true love, so no spoilers there 😁 In book three, the story is mostly told from the point of view of Sophie. That also gives you a clue to the cover design and colour, and I'll reveal that in
next month's newsletter. Other than that, I'll only say that the war does take place in book three, and that each of the Asters face a personal test. And then, of course, there's Gayle....
If you've read any of the Aster books and haven't yet shared a rating or review on your preferred book platform, I'd really appreciate you doing so. And as soon as ARC copies
of book three are available, you'll be the first to know 😊
