After last month's newsletter I got questions about one of the dogs featured - Micha. What was going on with his tongue, specifically the dark marks on it?
In my time working at the organization, I had only seen these marks once before - about two years ago - and now I'm seeing them not just on Micha's tongue, but also on one of his brothers' too.
To answer the question: no, Micha hadn't been eating mud or worse!, In fact, they're birth marks. Yes, dogs have these too!
I thought they made Micha look a bit odd, but now I think they suit him really well. They add to his uniqueness.
Meanwhile, it's been code orange here due to extreme heat, which means we start training our dogs an hour earlier to finish before the worst of the heat of the day.
