The Day Job (for now?)

If you've come across my Author Bio you will know that I train guide dogs for the blind. For this month’s update, I won’t be sharing a technical aspect of the training, but a funny little coincidence. Last month I got a new dog in training, and her name is Chrissy! And what I find so funny about her, is that we share the same birthday. Her entire litter was born on the same day of the same month as me. For no other reason than that she has become one of my favourites💛 

Chrissy is very cute; with ears a slightly darker shade than the rest of her fur. And she’s extremely playful. She loves to play tug of war, but she doesn’t play it to win, she just loves the tugging. The second I let go, and she’s the only one holding the toy, she races back to me so I can hold on to one end again, so that she can start tugging again😊 It’s a very nice game she’ll be able to play with her future client, because they won’t have to worry that if she “wins”, she’ll disappear off to somewhere in the house and pull apart the toy (yes, as I’m sure you know, there are plenty of dogs who pull apart toys, and more, all the time). Because Chrissy doesn’t see the appeal in this, there is no risk of her pulling the toy apart and possibly swallowing parts of it. This can be extremely dangerous, since a client can’t see it happening, and can’t intervene as quickly.
